How to use AI Detector
- Paste at least 200 characters of text into the box. Shorter samples don't give reliable results.
- Click Analyze. Claude reads the text and estimates AI probability based on rhythm, vocabulary, hedging patterns, and generic transitions.
- Review the verdict card: probability %, category (human / likely_human / mixed / likely_ai / ai), and the specific signals observed.
- Use the result as a guide — not a court verdict. Real AI detection is inherently probabilistic.

Tips
- Minimum 200 characters for reliable analysis. Under that, stylistic signals aren't enough.
- Longer samples (1,000+ chars) give more confident results than short ones.
- The verdict card includes specific signals — read those. They're more useful than the probability number alone.
- Text that was heavily edited by a human AFTER an AI draft will often pass as human — because at that point it effectively is.
Troubleshooting
- It's flagging my own writing as AI.
- Some human writing genuinely mirrors AI patterns — formulaic academic prose, hedged corporate writing, or writing that follows very structured templates. The signals list shows what triggered the verdict.
- AI text passed as human.
- Well-humanized AI output (via editing or an AI Humanizer tool) can genuinely be undetectable. No detector is 100% accurate — this is a fundamental limit, not a bug.
- Different result on the same text.
- AI analysis has slight non-determinism. The verdict category is usually stable; the exact probability % may vary ±5-10 points between runs.

- How accurate is this?
- Real accuracy for consumer-grade AI detection is 70-85% on unedited AI output, dropping to 40-60% on heavily edited or humanized text. This is the current state of the art — not a limit of our tool specifically. Treat the result as one signal among many.
- Is my text stored?
- No. Zero-retention on both our server and Anthropic's Claude API.
- Which AI models does it detect?
- It analyzes stylistic patterns common to LLM output in general — so it works on text from ChatGPT (GPT-4, GPT-5), Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, and most other current models.
- What's the minimum text length?
- 200 characters. Below that, stylistic signals are too sparse to be reliable.
- Does it detect specific paragraphs within a longer text?
- This version analyzes the whole submission as one unit. For paragraph-level detection, paste each paragraph separately.
- How does it differ from other detectors like GPTZero or Originality.ai?
- Other detectors use perplexity models trained specifically for detection. Our detector uses Claude's general analysis capability with a structured prompt. Neither approach is definitively better — both are probabilistic. Ours is fully explainable (returns specific signals), free, and doesn't require signup.
